Cancer of the vulva T1N0M0

Carcinoma of vulva is a malignant epithelial tumor of external female genitals. Caused by HPV 6, 11, 16, 18, 31, 33, 45, 51, 52, 56. Long term virus persistence leads to establishment of vulva dysplasia (VIN), and squamous cell carcinoma develops with its background. Unlike squamous cell skin cancer, carcinoma of vulva often has metastases in inguinal and pelvic lymph nodes. Carcinoma of vulva with affected clitoris develops metastases very early. Metastases in lymph nodes are associated with poor prognosis.

The most effective treatment of primary carcinoma of vulva is photodynamic therapy.
